Nipson’s unique combination of productivity and flexibility defies limits at Ipex 2010

Belfort, France, April 28, 2010: Ipex 2010, the world’s biggest English-speaking event for print, publishing and media, runs from May 18 to May 25 in Birmingham’s NEC center (UK). Visitors to stand 12-C116 will witness the unlimited possibilities offered by the unique combination of productivity and flexibility, characteristic of Nipson’s digital print solutions.
Nipson will be demonstrating its flagship systems DIGIFlex and VaryPRESS as part of integrated production lines.
Designed for flexibility, the DIGIFlex can be used in multiple configurations and is easily integrated with third party pre- and post-processing equipment. It will therefore be showcased in a twin engine duplex (TED) configuration in L, combined with Lasermax processing equipment, i.e. 2 unwinders, a rewinder, a buffer and a cutter/stacker with conveyor, a Nipson stacker ST20 and a 2J Printing Systems camera control system.

During live demonstrations visitors will discover the versatility of this configuration as it will allow both simplex and duplex printing, roll-to-roll, fanfold to stack, and roll-to-cut and stack. They will also witness how easily the configuration can be switched from pinless to pin-fed and vice versa.
The DIGIFlex will be printing a mix of applications that will fully illustrate its unique features in terms of flexibility, producing outstanding quality on the widest range of substrates. It will be printing 2-up booklets on recycled paper (48.8 gsm) as well as labels on heavy-weight paper (250 gsm) and special substrates such as 58 micron PET film and lightweight paper (40 gsm).
Visitors to the Nipson stand can also see the VaryPRESS running up to 150 meters per minute (492 feet per minute), producing sophisticated security and transactional applications in a roll-to-roll configuration on various types of substrates including extremely thin paper and Tyvek. A 2-up application producing vouchers will demonstrate Nipson’s recently launched proprietary fluorescent toner, developed to meet the ever-growing market demand for anti-counterfeiting solutions.
Because Nipson dry toner is magnetic, Nipson presses are MICR-capable by default, which enables simultaneous printing of MICR characters and other variable data at no extra cost. This will be illustrated by an inspiring transactional application that includes MICR and Microline fonts, barcodes and matrix 2D, all of which will be printed in the same high quality.
And finally, in collaboration with Bonelli (www.bonelliamerica.com), Nipson will be demonstrating the advantages of its cool xenon flash fusing process in which the toner is fused without heating the substrate. Not only does it add to the quality of the print, it also avoids shrinkage, warping or other deformations, making the finishing process much easier. At its stand (20-C673), Bonelli Macchine Grafiche will be binding books printed by Nipson, using a unique process that combines metal stitching for the interior pages and hot or cold-glue for the cover application.

“Despite 2009 having been a difficult year, it has been very productive indeed, what with the launch of the DIGIFlex and the VaryPRESS, our recently launched fluorescent toner and our extended substrate flexibility. Ipex is the ideal platform to show our new-found impetus and the innovations that have resulted from it,” says Guillaume Dumarey, Nipson SAS Marketing & Sales Director. "With the first signs of economic recovery, the timing of Ipex is just right. We will be demonstrating once again Nipson’s ability to print beyond limits, and to provide integrated solutions that add real value to our customers worldwide.”
From May 18 to May 25, Nipson will be exhibiting in hall 12 on stand C116, a 400 m² stand to match Nipson’s drive and ambition. And just as Nipson distinguishes itself by its solutions, the stand’s eye-catching design will be in keeping with its motto ‘born to be different’.
